Annetta Kraayeveld - Aug. 20, 21, 22, 2010
Class Selections
Annetta's work ranges from traditional to artsy and from large to itsy, working mostly in rattan reed and hand pounded black ash. Annetta finds that the challenge of mastering new techniques and weaving the pictures in her mind keep this an exciting art form. Annetta considers herself a weaver, a teacher and a life-long student of basketry.
This fascination with baskets began when she was a young child, however, her weaving adventure didn't begin until 1995. She stumbled upon a weaving book and couldn't put it down. After hunting down a local weaver and begging a lesson, she was hooked. Since that time Annetta has been largely self taught, learning from both her mistakes and successes. She weaves because she can't stop.
Annetta has published over 30 patterns, many of them tiny black ash baskets. All of her patterns, as well as kits for her tiny black ash baskets, are available on this site.
Annetta also teaches her original basket designs at guilds and conventions across the USA.
